I Love My Camp.
Hello,
Finally got a chance to post about my beloved 3D2N Ngee Ann Poly Camp. It was at first dreadful when I was selected for this camp, for I thought it would be just like any other typical camps, with the usual games, screaming, shouting, cheering, and of course, the tents/bunks. But I was pleasantly surprised when we were briefed of what will be installed for us.
Air-conditioned apartments, with 2 bedrooms, a nice living room and a kitchen filled with tidbits, were awaiting for our arrival, and we were are cheering for joy and couldn’t wait. Holiday camp! When we reach TheLoft@96, we immediately fell in love with it. Such comfortable accommodation just makes you feel like a king/queen. It’s just such a pity some didn’t attend!
I miss my apartment!
Ninja, Spartans, Centurions, Apache, Vikings. Weird names? I don’t find them weird after this camp. Those are tribe names that everyone of us are familiar with, which identifies us and bonds us.
Ninja’s Oi! Hai! Ninja’s Oi! Ha! Ninja’s Oi! Swoosh!
The first day was more of “get to know each other” day, where we were spilt into tribes after a funny and exciting lecture talk by the people of Adam Khoo Learning Technologies. It was filled with jokes and laughter throughout the whole lecture. I think we didn’t stop laughing at all!
After the talk, I’ve decided to be more enthusiastic in this camp, for there is something we all can look forward to. Haha. I miss the laughter.
The first time camp food was so damn nice, although it is catered food. We had, all sorts of stuff, from Japanese food to Malay food, from Chinese to BBQ seafood. LOL. Additonally, we ate almost everytime! Breakfast, Lunch, Tea break, Dinner, Supper, and not forgetting all the tidbits in our apartments! And usually in most camps, we need to say a food cheer right? Usually I will dread this, but strangely, I didn’t. In fact, I love it. Haha! I just don’t know why, but this camp is special. I miss the food cheers.
I think the second day is more of the “get to know each other” day though, as we start to do things together, as a whole. Firstly, we woke up like at 7+? Latest for all the camps I’ve been to huh. LOL. Took a nice little shower and soon was breakfast. Of course, my Ninja tribe would all sit together, and have breakfast, and I guess we were all still shy to talk. But the shyness faded away quickly, as we had to do many things together and learn how to interact with each other, and of course finding out who is the “E” and “I”. LOL. “E”s are the most talkative and will just talk and talk and talk without thinking. “I”s are people who are quieter and keep more things to themselves, saying only when needed. They are also the people who are more shy and do not like to talk to strangers, unlike the “E”s. Guess which am I!
We really had lots of fun together, learning and bonding with each other and I really love it. Especially for the cheers, where we shouted out might out like mad, for no apparent reason. LOL.
All thanks to the SLs (Student Leaders) of Ngee Ann Poly, that made us so enthusiastic, especially our tribe leader, Adam, the “MassComm-er”! We were all spoonfed by him, giving us all the cheers we could use. LOL. And at night, we stayed up late to rehearse our cheers and do our mass dance preparations, and many were falling asleep. LOL. We had to pair up with a girl/boy for the mass dance and all were like standing there doing nothing. Shy.
“GUYS! Don’t expect the girls to come to you and ask you right? Go ask the girls now!” LOL. So of course went and ask a girl. Her name was Aishah, a nice little Sec 2 girl.
I miss my camp friends.
Through this 3D camp, we all really learnt a lot and brought many things home, which would never have been possible if I didn’t attend. I know my own personality, how to handle others, and of course, brought back memories of this camp, and got to know new friends. I really miss them man. I’m camp-sick!
Best camp ever!
