Look Into Your Past.

December 27th, 2009 § 0

It’s natural many of us don’t and never want to look back into our past. The embarrassing and childish moments. The wrongs and the mistakes. The hurtful and painful times. It’s natural you don’t wanna go back.

How about those, who have a wonderful past? Those who are well-cared and loved. Those who had an exciting and happy past? Would you still look back and glance?

There’s no future when there is no past. There will not be a present, when there is no past. So let us travel back in time and look. How a person were you last time? How have you changed? I have changed. I can’t tell for the better or for the worst. But I do see how others have changed.

I think all have changed for the better. But how do you actually define better? A person doing more for others. That’s better. A person who care more for themselves now than others. That’s better too, in the eyes of the person. I can’t really find what actually is “better”.

I actually have a little “From the Past” box. I don’t know how many of you have burnt your O Level papers or entry proof. I haven’t, and instead kept them in this box. 20 years later, I’ll show them to my kids. I only recently just started filling this box, so I already have lost some of the past items. The box itself is actually part of my past. I think I’ll laugh when I see this box 25 years later. I also have some random papers which might be useless to someone, but precious to me. I bet the person who wrote it already forgotten about it. Haha. And I can’t believe some people look so cute in Secondary 1. LOL.

I also have this X-Country tag which I never wore. Because I didn’t bring it. Haha! My number was 0909. Turn it around, it’s 6060! I’ll definitely smile when I look back at this 15 years later. I also have random cards and photos. I think most are happy things. I have something inside which I took for granted last time, but now I love it so much. I don’t even remember I had even opened it until recently after finding it.

So, keep your past, and look into them once in a while. Don’t throw them away. Bring your past along with you. I shall go search for more…
